About Carlee

When I think back over my painting career, there were two points in time that led me to investigate my art. The first time was in junior high when my art teacher asked me to cut up pieces of magazine pages and place onto a page. Through the discovery process I began to explore how I could manipulate subject ideas (like having a piece of hair flowing out of a water jar). Later I began to think more about how I could make sense in my art for personal connections. This took place by exploring both artist and styles such as Salvador Dali (Surrealism) and Destil Art design colours in the likes of Theo Van Doesburg.

I hope that my art encourages people to linger, wonder and admire about hyper-realistic perspectives. Details are huge for me.
